Mumbai vs Jammu and Kashmir

Mumbai took Jammu and Kashmir by surprise with yet another impressive performance during the second day. J&K still stands a chance of winning this particular contest, but by the end of J&Ks second day, they were understandably disheartened. J&K finished their innings today on a score of 86, and before Mumbai could recover, J&K lost five wickets. Luckily, Sharma and Jaiswal set the first run with 54 in the opening. Wickets started falling one by one after Shimr fell, and with the likes of Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyar, and Shivam all failing to take charge, Henry managing to reach 101/7 put Mumbai in a bad state. Being ahead by just 15 runs with 7 wickets already lost had put India in a tough spot yet again. Saviors found in the lower order of Tanush Cotain and Shardul Thakur helped them out of this steep hole, and now, rested comfortably on a score 173, or 188 if Shardul is included. Thakur put the rest on `the pitch at a stunning speed of 234 balls. If these two continue their dynamics, Mumbai may easily stand far ahead of JiK, enabling them to beat India.

Both Bhatia and Suraj made valuable contributions, and Suraj even scored a century. Moreover, Singh added 62 which was followed with Bhatia’s more than modest contribution of 69 runs. However, even though the openers set the tone well, they still couldn’t score huge runs, but Rana and Sindhu helped Haryana end day 2 at 158/2.

Tamil Nadu vs Chandigarh

Ajith Ram and Sai Kishore tipped the scales in their favor as they helped Tamil Nadu take a first innings lead of ninety seven runs by bowling out Chandigarh for just two hundred and four in their first innings. Chandigarh will be incredibly furious after witnessing what transpired there batting wise as they were progressing at one hundred seventy six for two at some point in time with Shivam Bhambri, the opening batsman, smashing a hundred. Unbelievably, with the addition of the opener’s wicket, Tamil Nadu triggered a stunning collapse which meant Chandigarh lost the final eight wickets for a measly twenty eight runs. At the same time, Chandigarh did manage to get some rest in as they sent the two retaining batsmen to bed early without a few stokes at their total of one hundred twenty four.

At the start of the day, Maharashtra was bowled out for 297 in the first turn and immediately after, their bowlers did not disappoint, dismissing the other team’s batsmen for just 145. Baroda would have fared much worse were it not for Mitesh Patel’s 61 and Mahesh Pithiya’s blistering 36. Despite losing two initial wickets, Gujarat’s position fundamentally changed due to Ruturaj Gaikwad’s terrific 54-ball knock of 66, which allowed him to raise his team’s score to 275 at the end of the stumps.

Rajasthan vs Vidarbha
