Real Madrid Predicted lineup vs Man city: Champions League

On the examination of the Etihad tickets, Real Madrid would know they’re not facing a very potent Manchester side, with the Champions League round of 16 tickets at stake.

Madrid have been defeated and triumphed against much greater versions of Guardiola’s Cityzens, but a so called “emergency” suspended injury could mitigate the disparity.

The Las Liga leaders are far from the most tactically composed side, and the issues concerning their defense are bound to worsen the problems of a City side that is still capable of scoring goals.

They will no doubt be grateful for having a chance to play the return leg at home, so they can one more time do their voodoo magic, but Ancelotti’s “Lunar” spell for the night would take the tie away from City on Tuesday night.

This is how Madrid could set up for the first leg at the Etihad.

GK: Thibaut Courtois – On a goalckeeping encyclopedia entry, Courtois should have the banner saying “noisy nights at the Etihad”. However, Andrey Lunin was a penalty shootouts hero for them last season. Busy on the Tuesday, is what I am expecting of the Belgian.

RB: Federico Valverde – Lucas Vázquez is another victim of the team’s increasing injury woes, which forces Ancelotti to shift the Uruguayan international midfielder, Valverde, into right back where he has been excelling lately.

CB: Aurelien Tchouameni – With the first leg looming, los blancos are without their three most experienced center backs, thus they will be employing a combination that no Madrid supporter would ever expect to see in this game when the draw was made.

CB: Raul Asencio – The sprightly defender is mobile across the whole back line and would have been a candidate to start as a full back if not for the center injuries that have plagued Madrid.

LB: Ferland Mendy – With Fran Garcia performing the 90 minute drubbing over the weekend, Ancelotti will most likely use Mendy’s superior one-on-one and athleticism against the City.

CM: Eduardo Camavinga – The french international made his return off the bench on the Madrid Derby and is almost certain to start on Tuesday night.

CM: Luka Modric – Modric is not fit to play a full 90 minutes, but Ancelotti can use him from the very first minute and allow him to control and dictate play as most people expect of him.

RM: Rodrygo – The Cityzens have suffered due to Rodrygo’s efforts over the years. His phenomenal last-minute goal set up Madrid’s victory in the 2021/22 Champions League and he scored in both legs in the last season too.

AM: Jude Bellingham – The lad returned to familiar territory on Tuesday after assisting Madrid’s quarter final victory over City last season. His numbers have dipped a bit this season but he continues to get himself into excellent scoring positions. The slumping hosts could be overwhelmed by Bellingham’s might!

LM: Vinicius Junior – The 2024 Ballon d’Or runner up has not scored in La Liga for three months, but met expectations on Saturday and has performed phenomenally in this ground before.

ST: Kylian Mbappe – The Frenchman had a slow start to the season but has remarkably performed, helping Ancelotti’s side save a point in the derby. If City wish to slow down the Frenchman, they’re going to have to work harder. Read More Sports Update on 1xbetfair
