Willamson has done the impossible in only 159 innings and is the second fastest player to achieve 7000 runs, which is a fascinating record. The modern great has surpassed Virat Kohli in this respected list, and now sits second among the 46 players who have achieved the mark, behind only Hashim Amla.

Williamson has also shattered Martin Guptill’s record (185 innings) and is now the fastest New Zealand player to achieve the milestone, and will be delighted with the new record.
