Babar Azam Equals Massive World Record
Shubman Gill Needs 413 Runs In ICC Champions Trophy To Become Quickest Player In World To
Babar managed to carve his name on the history books after he scored his 6000th ODI run in 123 innings, and in the process, he matched Hashim Amla’s world record for being the fastest player in the world to reach the milestone. Virat Kohli is in third with 136 innings after Amla and Babar, so Kohli is currently the third fastest to achieve this milestone.
Babar Azam Breaks 26-Year-Old Record
Babar, too, has beaten the legendary opener Saeed Anwar’s record which was set 26 years ago, meaning Babar is now the fastest Pakistani player to reach this milestone. Among the champions of World Cup 1992, he is the only one whose 6000 ODI runs came in less than 150 innings.
He is also the fastest player to cross the 5000 ODI runs mark. He did this in 2023 and set the record by achieving that in 97 innings. Prior to this record, Babar Amla had the record with 101 innings.
Babar has the best ODI cricket figures with a whopping 6019 runs in just 123 innings at an average of 55.73, with 19 centuries. He has become Pakistan’s second best scorer in the 50 over format after Anwar (20).
