Speaking during a practice session before a Ranji Trophy match with Railways, Delhi pacer Navdeep Saini chose to dodge the question of whether he would aim to set a trap for Virat Kohli outside the off-stump.
This match is particularly special for Kohli as it will mark his return to the Ranji Trophy after sitting out for 13 years. It’s safe to say the excitement for his return in the Arun Jaitley stadium is through the roof.

Saini said that during the Border Gavaskar Trophy held in Australia, Kohli got out 8 times to balls pitched outside the off stump. When Saini was talking to PTI he was rightfully asked whether Saini was instructed by Kohli to bowl in that line and whether he made any attempts to trouble the Indian batsman. This seasoned bowler opted not to reveal so much and stated that he was just trying to get his plans together and reiterated that since he is in his team he will not strive for this.
“Nothing of the sort was present. I’ve tried to look at my own preparation and what will work tomorrow. Kohli bhai is in my team,” spoke Saini.
‘Having practice with Kohli feels like an actual game’
Saini’s impressions with Kohli reflect that he marvels in the competition and loves spending time with the star batter while in the nets.
“I have known Virat for a long time and when we practice, it is always aimed at competition. I have always enjoyed practicing with him. Since the time I started playing with him, there has always been a chance to get a good ball or get a good player out. So today was the same. I have to do my job,” said Saini.
Saini further narrated that it is indeed a matter of great pride for the Delhi team players to share the dressing room with a great player like Kohli.
“Because he is such a legend, sharing the dressing room with him is a source of great pride for all the boys. So everyone watching him, it is like how high this intensity is. Correspondingly, we too have high intensity. This is a positive for us.” he stated. You can find here more update regarding to cricket 1xbetfair
