Mohammed Shami made his ODI return remaining alongside pace spearhead Harshit Rana who was making his debut in the November 2023 series. Indonesia fielded two pacers in the match.
Siraj, who was part of the Indian squad for Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, was missing in the ODI series against England and Champions Trophy 2025 and was on a congratulatory spree for Harshit for his debut cap which he received from Shami on Instagram.
Post India’s triumph over England, Harshit took to Instagram and posted few photographs of him with Kohli and Shami after India’s four wicket win.
Overwrought as I donned the jersey of my Indian team for the first time in an ODI and was able to contribute to a winning cause. It doesn’t get better than this,” captioned Harshit.
In his first over, Harshit gave away 11 runs and proceeded with a maiden over. The young fast bowler faced brutality in his third over, where Phil Salt thrashed him all over the ground. By that moment, he had given away 3 sixes and 2 boundaries and his figures read 37 runs in 3 overs. Even so, he was able to turn things around by getting Ben Duckett and Harry Brook out, helping his team seize the momentum of the match. After two wickets Harshit then got Liam Livingstone out which left him with figures of 3 for 53 in his 7 overs.
In his ODI debut, Harshit Rana alongside Ravindra Jadeja’s garnered six wickets aided India to demolish the visitors for a substandard score of 248. The hosts had a bad start as opener Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal lost their wickets in the first six overs of the match. However, Shubman Gill anchored the innings scoring 87 off 96 allowing India to chase the target. India won the match defeating England by four wickets and now lead this 3 match ODI series 1-0. for read more click here
